Baby Steps

Today I am going to blog about something very obvious.

“Without goals, and plans to reach them, you are like a ship that has set sail with no destination”. Fitzhugh Dodson

Now, I don’t mean to be profound or anything, however, I know so many people who have absolutely no goals for their lives. They just exist. Day in and day out they simply react to whatever happens each day instead of living intentionally.

I find this rather sad. I have always set goals for myself and find I get so much accomplished when I do. I have earned two degrees  (a B.S. and an Associates), bought my own home, started two of my own businesses and got a black belt in Isshin-ryu karate. These are just a few I can think of right now.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish”. Larry Elder

But just having a goal is not good enough. You must have a measurable plan, with a timetable to achieve it. Then you implement my secret weapon….BABY STEPS. Small little achievable steps that easily get you one step closer to the goal.

The reason I am blogging about this today, is I felt myself getting overwhelmed by all the things I want to accomplish for Mossy Cottage. I have items to prepare and price, a blog to write, a blog page that needs tweaking, comments to be made on Facebook, and an Etsy account to regenerate and tweak. I needed to remind myself to do one small thing and then another until everything is finished. And it will get finished. It always does. So please, do yourself a favor and set some goals for yourself and then take the baby steps necessary to get there. I promise you won’t regret it!

“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” C.S. Lewis

P.S. Next post is my 10th. I will be giving stuff away to a few lucky readers who leave a comment for that post. Tell your friends!!!
